Make hitfilm Run Faster on your computer!

So, After you got hitfilm 4 express, with the possibility of not so many of you have actually so powerful machines, hitfilm should run a little slow especially when adding a lot of effects and previewing, even with some slight color correction, and masking, it starts to slow down at least in my computer, that's why we're going to show some of the quick tricks to make it run a little bit faster, in a usable stage.

First thing you wanna do, is give it the permission to use more ram, hitfilm by default comes with 1024 or less( that is available for it to use), but we can change that and give it more room to play in, in my case, i have 4 GB of ram, i gave hitfilm 3 GB, and it's only going to be used when needed, to do that, go to File>Options

Then the Options window will appear, select Cache and increase the number of MBs, 3GB = 1024*3 = 3072MB, you can use as much ram as you want, depending on what you have!

the next thing to do, is reduce the quality of the preview when editing, so it runs faster, by default it's set to FULL resolution, but we need to use quarter of the original or half, depending on your needs. to do that, all you have to do is click on that FULL drop-down menu on top of the viewer, and change it to your liking.
