Must have apps for Linux 2017!
After installing your Linux distro, you must have got confused about what to install and whatnot, we'll list some apps that are mostly necessary for the majority of users!
1. Download Managers
- uGet : everything you can expect from a download manager
- XDM : It has all the basic features of a download manager
2. Torrent Clients
- Deluge : beautiful user interface with good functionalities
- Transmission : The most used bittorrent client in the linux community
3. Browsers
- Google Chrome : Nothing to say about it
- Mozilla Firefox : Same
- Vivaldi : it's developed by Opera team, based on the chromium project and it's kinda different!
4. Communication
- Skype : And who does not know it?
- Pidgin : It supports many chatting platforms including – Facebook, Google Talk, Yahoo .. etc
5. Cloud Storage
- DropBox : Most popular cloud storage on the internet
- Mega : offers 50GB of free storage
6. Office
- LibreOffice : Comes by default with Ubuntu, Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math and Base
- WPS Office : includes writer, presentation and spreadsheets support.
7. Music
- Lollypop : A new Music player, Lollypop is open source and has a beautiful yet simple user interface
- Rhythmbox : It does all the basic tasks of a music player
8. Video
- VLC : nothing to say about, you probably have used it before, a video player that does everything
- Kodi : A full-fledged Media center
9. Image editing
- Gimp : most popular on linux, a lot of people says that it's equivalent to Photoshop on windows!
- Krita : It's mainly meant for painting, but you can edit your photos efficiently!
10. Text Editors
- Atom : Atom is the modern and hackable text editor maintained by GitHub
- Sublime Text : Most beautiful Text editor, it's not free but it's worth it!
